    Description

This is what amounts to a “cut” signature of Hall of Famer Bill Terry. This was obtained through the mail 40 years ago and is actually 1/2 of an index card. Terry was a great signer through the mail and index cards were a good and inexpensive way for a kid to collect. This signature is in a top loader and framed with an 8x10 photo of the baseball legend.
Bill Terry (1898-1989) was a First Baseman for the NY Giants 1923-1936 and was the Giants Manager 1932-1941. Terry was an All-Star three times and part of the 1933 World Series Championship team. He was the National League Batting Champ in 1930 and six times had 200 or more Hits and 100 or more RBI. His career Fielding average was nearly flawless at .992. Terry also had an incredible nine seasons with a Batting Average over .320! His career .341 average is the NL record to this day for a Left Handed hitter in the National League. Terry was elected to the National Baseball Hall Of Fame in 1954.
This 40 year old item is in nice shape with no real issues that I can see, and the signature is bold and clean. The index card has toned with age but does not affect the item. It is in a glass front, clip type frame which is included. One of the little metal frame clips is missing on this particular piece. This item comes from a smoke free home.
