Description
This is a vintage "cardboard-stock" index card (see picture) nicely signed by deceased NEW YORK GIANTS, ST. LOUIS BROWNS, and CINCINNATI REDS pitcher JOHN "JACK" OGDEN. John Ogden pitched in the Major Leagues from 1918 through 1932, compiling a career 25-34 won-loss record. After his playing career ended, Ogden owned the Elmira Pioneers minor league baseball team. He was inducted into the International League Hall of Fame in 1952. Sadly, John Ogden passed away in 1977 at the age of 80. This cardboard card was signed in 1970 or 1971, as it reads "I am now 73 years old, J. Ogden". It is clean and intact, exhibiting light wear and creasing from handling and storage over the past 48 years. The original owner has included Ogden's personal information on the back of the card. It would make a nice addition to your own collection, or it would make a wonderful gift for that John Ogden enthusiast, Giants, Browns, or Reds historian, or vintage autograph collector in your life! Postage is .50. And, of course I'll combine postage on multiple purchases. Sorry, NO international shipping. Be sure to check the other items in my eBay store, too!
