Digital Row Counter for Sock Knitting Machine
The counter can easily be installed on Autoknitter, Legare and Gearhart sock machines as well as most other machines with 5/16 (.312) inch diameter masts. A sensor attaches to the mast of the sock knitting machine using one of the two brackets that are supplied. If you are installing the counter on a NZAK machine, please contact me. A special sensor bracket for some NZAK machines is needed. The special bracket will be included. A magnet attaches to the yarn carrier. When the magnet passes in front of the tip of the sensor, and up to about 1/8 (.125) inches away from it, a count is added to the total. The display module has a holder that mounts to the table top. The holder is angled for better viewing of the display. A reset button on the display module resets the count to zero. The counter is powered by a 1.5v AA battery (included).
The sock machine in the photos shows how the bracket and sensor are attached.
No part of the sock machine is included with the counter.
The counter consists of the following components:
1) A five digit display module. (1.5v AA battery included).
2) A display module holder for mounting the display module to a table top.
3) A magnet that attaches to the yarn carrier.
4) A sensor that detects a magnet passing near the tip of the sensor.
5) Two sensor brackets - one to be used with a straight mast and one to be used with an offset mast.
A NZAK sensor bracket will be included if installing the counter on a NZAK machine.
