FOX HUNTING APPOINTMENTS LEATHER SANDWICH CASE & BRITANNIA METAL CASE, ENGLAND

Description

This wonderful hunting appointments sandwich case is marked "MADE IN ENGLAND" on the front of the leather case, under the tab, and on the side strap. It is a medium brown pigskin and beautifully made and stitched- it is certainly pre 1950 by the style of the buckles and hardware. And by the construction- they do not make these any more!
The case is lined with a soft chamois- see photo.
The hinged Britannia metal inner case has a D ring for removal and is perfect. There are marks on the inside- JAMES DIXON & SONS/ SHEFFIELD, a hunting horn cartouche, and 942M.
A terrific kit that is ready to be used today- for the show ring appointments classes or the hunt field. An enduring hunting collectible as well.
