Gary Peters was an excellent left-handed pitcher & hitter, playing 14 seasons in the majors for the White Sox (1959-1969), and Red Sox (1970-1972). He pitched in 359 games, with a record of 124-103, 23 shut-outs, 5 saves, and a 3.25 ERA. Peters was the A.L. ROY in 1963, with a record of 19-8, 4 shut-outs, 1 save, league leading 2.33 ERA,, and 8th in MVP. He was a career best and league leading 20-8 in 1964, with 3 shut-outs, made the All-Star team, and finished 7th in MVP. He led the league again in ERA in 1966, with a 1.98, and a record of 12-10. Peters as a hitter, batted in 450 games, many as a pinch-hitter, and hit .222, with 19 HRs, and 102 RBIs.
