They are also useful in stellar- and deep-sky observations, especially when a low amount light-scattering and high contrast is desired for chasing close doubles or faint fuzzies.
    Their optical layout is of the Abbe Orthoscopic type with a plano-convex singlet eye lens and a triplet field lens.
