Johnny Neun (1900-1990) was a switch-hitting 1st baseman & pinch-hitter, who played in the majors for 6 seasons with the Tigers (1925-1928), and Braves (1930-1931). He played in 432 games, hitting .289, with 2 HRs, and 85 RBIs. In 1927, Neun played in 79 games, hitting .324, with 27 RBIs, and 22 stolen bases, including getting 5 hits, and stealing 5 bases in one game 7-9-27 against the Yankees. On 5-31-27, he turned an unassisted triple play against the Indians, which ended the ball game (the 1st triple day to end a game. It was also the 6th triple play in M.L. history at the time. After his playing days, Neun coached for the Yankees (1944-1946-was interim manager in 1946), and managed the Reds (1947-1948), compiling a record as manager of 125-143.
