    Description

    Ken "Hawk" Harrelson (b.1941) was a radio & TV broadcaster, and received the Ford C. Frick Award in 2019, and inducted into the M.L.B. HOF. After his playing career ended, he broadcast games for the Red Sox (1975-1981), White Sox (1982-1985), was G.M. of the White Sox (1986), broadcaster for the Yankees (1987-1988), and White Sox again (1990-2008), and TV Analyst (2009-until retirement after the 2018 season). Prior to his broadcasting career, Harrelson was a right-handed hitting 1st baseman & outfielder for 9 seasons with the KC A's (1963-1966 & 1967), Senators (1966-1967), Red Sox (1967-1969), and Indians (1970-1971). He played in 900 games, hitting .239, with 131 HRs, and 421 RBIs.Harrelson has 2 seasons of 30+ HRs, with his best season, being 1968, as he made mthe All-Star team, and finished 3rd in MVP, while hitting a career best .275, 35 HRs, and league leading and career high 109 RBIs. Harrelson is also credited with bringing the batting glove to the majors, as he was 1st player to wear one.
