    Description

    Merrill "Pinky" May (1911-2000) played 5 seasons in the majors for the Phillies (1939-1943), and served in the U.S. Navy during WW II (1944-1945). He was a right-handed hitting 3rd baseman, and hit .275 in 665 games, with 4 HRs, and 215 RBIs. He was a 1940 All-Star, while hitting .293, with a HR, and 48 RBIs, finishing 29th in MVP voting. May's son, Milt (b.1950) was a left-handed hitting catcher, and played 15 seasons in the majors.
