This item in my EBAY store is a NORTHWOOD  "GRAPE & CABLE"  MARIGOLD CARNIVAL GLASS LARGE FOOTED COVERED COMPOTE.   This NORTHWOOD "GRAPE & CABLE" covered compote is antique glass that has survived well over 100 years of survival and because of age has now become a beautiful family heirloom piece of glass;   Thought I would never own one of these big boys to offer for resale, I bought this compote with a little lid roughness just to own this item, but surely does no harm to this beauty, this roughness is smooth and possibly was done during production, a true American beauty I have here, there are no chips, cracks, scratches and no glass staining, the lid finial has NO roughness or damage, and the same goes for the bottom foot of this compote, I can almost guarantee you that very very few people have owned this beautiful family heirloom according to the condition this compote is in today, this lid roughness can not be seen when this lid is sitting on the bottom, any questions please e-mail me;

that I have here does have the early carnival glass era characteristics from the early carnival glass making process having your straw marks, stress marks, and air bubbles sometimes seen inside the glass of early carnival glass, and this compote does have air bubbles inside the glass, these characteristics were done during the glass making process and is NOT considered damage, any questions please e-mail me;
