I know very little about this piece.  It did come from an antique/vintage store in New Orleans.  I have no idea if there is a Mardi Gras connection but the colors are consistent with the French Quarter / Mardi Gras flavor.  The piece is very heavy at almost 12 lbs (11 lbs, 12 oz).  Both the height and width are around 9.5 inches.  The colors are vibrant and bold and the overall look of this piece is just amazing!!
