    Description

37-WORD HANDWRITTEN NOTE on a white 3x5 INDEX CARD SIGNED by TERRY COX, former major league baseball pitcher. This note, dated Aug 24, 1978, tells of Cox's life after baseball.
Cox signed as a free agent with the California Angels in 1968. The 6'5" righthander had one cup of coffee in the major leagues. In 1970 he relieved in three games without a decision. He gave up one run on four hits covering 2 1/3 innings. He spent 1971 in the minor leagues and, due to an arm injury, was out of baseball at the age of 22. His second career was in the contracting business. Cox is now 72 years old, living in Capitan, New Mexico.
